Yeah let me start by saying I've moved my Blog over to ugh Myspace. Yeah I'm the last person in the world to join that shit. Then again, now that I'm now on it. I'm finding people that aren't on it.  Complete opposite from when I wasn't on it. So whatever.

Anyways yeah my blog's over there now so go find it at http://blog.myspace.com/jfren" title="http://blog.myspace.com/jfren" target="_blank"http://blog.myspace.com/jfren.... Got to sign up for it so I guess I'm going to -- for a while -- post it on both here and there, but sooner or later I'm just going to go completely over there.

The Big 260

I'm really not sure how this project was birthed. If you know me, you know I love lists. VH-1, E!, Bravo, doesn't matter what channel. Biggest Celebrity Opps, Horrendous Break-ups, Greatest Toys, doesn't matter the subject.  There's something about lists that just makes me.....you know.

There's a couple great lists out there for video games. IGN's done a couple. Nintendo Power have done two in recent years, although the last one was for games that have appeared only on North American Nintendo systems. So yeah, how about a real gaming list?

Originally it was going to be the Top 100 Greatest Games of All-Time list featuring console, PC, and arcade games. And let me tell you something -- dear god that got complicated and muddled in a hurry. So as much as it pained me, I cut out some real amazing games on the PC and in the arcade -- but that always gives me another list for the future right?

So it became only the Top 100 Greatest Console Games of All-Time. But what to consider a console? Yeah the Atari and Intellivision are in fact consoles, both I owned at one point, but just for the sake of simplicity it became the Top 100 Greatest Console Games of All-Time After Super Mario Bros. from 1985.

And then even with that limited down, at 100 games I was still missing a shit load of good games that deserved at least mention. And somewhere along the way, the project became the 260 Greatest Console Games of All-Time Since 1985. Of course I decided to call it the Big 260 because honestly -- it's easier and cooler to say and plus it does sort of play off the whole X-Box 360 concept that I find so rediclously funny.  So your telling us you're going around in circles? Not going forward? Right back where you started? Microsoft you slay me.

Anyway the Big 260 will start soon. And honestly how do you split this up? Ten games a week? That's 26 weeks. That's an entire baseball season. Twenty games a week? That's a load to write each week. But I'm up for the challenge. So twenty games a week. Ten for a Monday. Ten for a Wendesday. Hopefully. Sometimes scheduling conflicts may occur.

260 games. So you must be wondering what DIDN'T make the list because most people I talked to couldn't even name 260 games let alone rank 260. But some how I did -- and had games left over that could have made the list. Well we'll look at that and a couple other 'special' lists when the Big 260 starts tomorrow.

All I can warn is the list might piss a few people off. I put one game (looks at Glen) higher than I would like but it's probably not as high as you'd like. But just have fun with it. I did. As with most lists, you can only put one thing in each slot so yes, there's an amazing tier of games near the top but let's face it. A lot of the middling of the list features games that are fairly equal to each other. I'd say almost anything after 100 to 260 can be interchangeable in rank. Let's face it -- they're all good games. Worth picking up.

So I'll see you guys tomorrow and let the games begin -- to be listed.
